Cats in the City Cat Sitting Service Agreement
Cats in the City
Cat Sitting Service Agreement

This Cat Sitting Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Cats in the City, LLC (“Cats in the City,” “Company,” “we,” or “us”) and the Client (“Client,” “you,” or “guardian”) for professional feline care services provided in the client’s home.

By scheduling or utilizing services with Cats in the City, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

1. Scope of Services

Cats in the City provides feline-exclusive, trauma-informed cat sitting services tailored to the emotional, behavioral, and physical wellbeing of cats. Services may include, but are not limited to:

• Feeding and fresh water replenishment
• Litter box scooping and maintenance
• Medication administration (when approved and scheduled)
• Observation of appetite, elimination, mobility, behavior, and general condition
• Play, enrichment, and companionship
• Grooming touch-ups as tolerated by the cat
• Pet-related cleanup
• Mail retrieval, plant watering, light rotation, and basic home security checks
• Coordination with veterinary providers in the event of concern or emergency

Cats in the City reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a cat presents unsafe behavior, severe medical instability, environmental hazards, or conditions outside the scope of non-veterinary home care.

2. Scheduling & Visit Windows

Visits are scheduled within operational time blocks rather than guaranteed exact arrival times. Cats in the City will make reasonable efforts to honor requested timing preferences but cannot guarantee exact arrival due to route logistics, emergencies, weather, staffing demands, traffic, or extended care needs with other animals.

Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly during holidays and peak travel periods.

Requests for additional visits or schedule modifications will be accommodated as availability permits.

3. Payment Terms

Payment is due within seven (7) days of invoice issuance unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Balances not paid within seven (7) days may be automatically processed with an additional 18% service gratuity, which is directed entirely to the assigned sitter.

Medication administration requiring specialized handling, restraint, injections, fluids, or advanced monitoring may incur additional fees.

Returned payments, chargebacks, or disputed charges may result in suspension of future services.

4. Cancellation & Reservation Policy

Cats in the City reserves dedicated time specifically for your household, frequently declining other reservations to maintain availability and continuity of care.

Client Cancellation Policy:

• Overnight Care Cancellations: 100% of the reservation total
• Cancellations Within 48 Hours of Scheduled Start: 100% of reservation total
• Cancellations More Than 48 Hours Before Start Time: 50% of reservation total

Holiday reservations may be subject to stricter cancellation terms.

5. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete care instructions
• Disclose all known medical conditions, behavioral concerns, bite history, litter box concerns, and mobility limitations
• Maintain a reasonably safe environment for care providers
• Ensure adequate food, medication, litter, cleaning supplies, and necessary care items are available during service
• Provide functional and reliable home access
• Notify Cats in the City of any individuals who may enter the home during the service period
• Inform Cats in the City immediately if travel plans change or return dates are modified

Failure to disclose aggression, unsafe conditions, infectious disease concerns, or significant medical instability may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

6. Veterinary Authorization & Emergency Care

Cats in the City is not a veterinary hospital and does not provide veterinary medical services. However, our team may identify signs of illness, distress, injury, anorexia, urinary obstruction, respiratory compromise, or other potentially emergent conditions during care.

If Cats in the City determines that veterinary evaluation may be necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the Client and emergency contacts provided.

If the Client cannot be reached, the Client authorizes Cats in the City to:

• Seek veterinary evaluation or treatment deemed reasonably necessary
• Transport or arrange transport for the cat(s)
• Share medical history and records with veterinary providers
• Approve emergency stabilization measures when delay could reasonably endanger the cat

The Client accepts full financial responsibility for all veterinary costs, transportation costs, emergency fees, medications, diagnostics, and associated expenses.

Cats in the City does not guarantee medical outcomes and shall not be held liable for complications arising from pre-existing illness, age-related decline, hidden medical conditions, stress responses, acts of nature, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

7. Release of Liability

Client understands that animal care carries inherent and unpredictable risks, including but not limited to illness, escape, injury, stress-related decline, property damage, bites, scratches, falls, or death.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Client releases and holds harmless Cats in the City, TANDEM Cat®, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from liability for:

• Pre-existing medical conditions or age-related decline
• Stress-related illness or behavioral deterioration
• Injuries sustained despite reasonable care and supervision
• Acts of other animals, third parties, or environmental hazards
• Escape attempts by cats with access to unsecured doors, windows, or unsafe home conditions
• Delays caused by severe weather, natural disaster, traffic, emergencies, or circumstances beyond reasonable control
• Damage resulting from undisclosed behavioral or medical conditions

Cats in the City’s liability for any claim arising from services shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service period in question.

8. Home Access & Property

Client authorizes Cats in the City to enter the residence for scheduled services.

The Client agrees that:

• All animals legally present in the home have disclosed vaccination status and behavioral history to the best of their knowledge
• The home environment is reasonably safe and functional
• Keys, codes, lockboxes, alarms, and entry instructions are accurate and operational

If access cannot be obtained at the scheduled visit time, the visit may still be billed in full.

Cats in the City is not responsible for failures of home systems, third-party criminal activity, appliance malfunction, or environmental damage unrelated to direct negligence.

9. Photography & Media Release

Client grants Cats in the City, TANDEM Cat®, and affiliated entities permission to photograph, video record, or document cats during the course of care for purposes including:

• Medical or behavioral documentation
• Internal training and quality assurance
• Educational materials
• Social media, marketing, publications, presentations, and promotional use

Client understands that identifying personal information such as home address, phone number, or last name will not intentionally be shared publicly without separate consent.

If the Client does not wish images or media of their cat(s) to be used publicly, written opt-out notice must be submitted before services begin.

10. Agreement Acceptance

By scheduling, utilizing, or continuing services with Cats in the City, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms contained within this Agreement.

By clicking "Agree & Submit" you are confirming your acceptance of these policies.
